The retired Archbishop was opening a three-day workshop organized by the Bishops of Gulu Ecclesiastical Province for all religious in the province to empower them to operate in accordance with Church law, enhancing their salvific mission.
The workshop aims to sensitize religious and superiors on canonical principles and paths in administering justice, promoting synodality and unity. Practical topics include ecclesiastical tribunals, challenges to religious life, heroic living of evangelical counsels, and relationships between religious and bishops. Odama reminded the religious of their profession to God, warning that abandoning their vocation is like divorce. He encouraged detachment from temporary things and networking among religious for lasting fruits in their mission.
