Sr. Cecilia Atayo MSMMC celebrates 40 years

“It is all about THANKING God who enabled me to clock 40 years in the consecrated life because I have prayed a reflected and asked: who am I to be kept in the house of the Lord for forty years? Others have left and gone for other alternatives, others have died and for me I’m still struggling and celebrating life as we await eternity!”

Sr. Cecilia still filled with gratitude sings “What returns to Yahweh …” Ps. 116:12ff., and enjoys her readings of the day of celebration: Phil. 3:12-20, John 15: 10-17. She gets consolation from The Gospel of St John that says: “You did not choose me but I chose you to bear fruit…”

Like many others, Sr. Cecilia turns to faith and the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Eucharist in time of challenges. “In order to face the challenges fruitfully, make every minute meaningful in the presence of the Lord,” Sr. Cecilia Atayo says.

She added that, like Abraham, we should count on our blessings not challenges and build an alter to offer sacrifice to God as consecrated persons all the days of our life.
Sr. Cecilia promises to pray for all who are struggling like her.
