Sr. Joyce Aciro was born in 1960 to the late Mr. Saulo Ongor & Ms. Santilla Apio in Teboke Parish- Lira Diocese.

Birth and Sacraments
Sr. Joyce Aciro was born in 1960 to the late Mr. Saulo Ongor & Ms. Santilla Apio in Teboke Parish- Lira Diocese. She is the last born in the family of 11 children. She was Baptised on 21st July 1968
and received her 1st Holy Communion on the same date. Her Registration NO is 3948. On 12th April1970, she received the sacrament of Confirmation in Teboke Parish- Lira Diocese.

Education.
Sr. Joyce attended her Primary School at Teboke Primary School from 1967-1975 Later, she joined Aboke Girls’ SS for her O Level, and Trinity College Nabbingo for
her A-Level. Then she joined the Institute of Teachers’ Education, Kyambogo and obtained a Diploma in Secondary Education.

In the year 2000, Sr Joyce pursued a Bachelors Degree Programme at Makerere University, and obtained a Degree in Secondary Education. Later on, she obtained a Masters Degree in Secondary Education.

Religious formation
Joyce Aciro was admitted to Aspirancy in the Institute of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church in 1976. On 6th January 1980, she joined Novitiate; And
received her 1st Vows on 1st January1982 ; then her Final Vows on 1st January1988.

Sr. Joyce served as a Community Animator of the MSMMC – Alanyi Community, and as a Community member of Iceme Community, and Hoima Community in Hoima Diocese and Arua Dioceses.
Personality, Sr. Joyce Aciro. She was gentle, always wore a smile on her face; and a committed teacher

Sickness And Death
Sister Joyce Aciro suffered from High Blood Pressure for over 20 years; which brought complication in her kidneys. In 2018 her kidneys started failing. She was treated at Mulago National Referral Hospital, Aber Hospital, Lira Hospital, then referred to Kiruddu in Renal Unit in August 2022. She received treatment and was discharged in fair condition.

On 29th August 2022, she was taken back to Aber Hospital. But on 12th September 2022, she breathed her last at 9.05 p.m. with diagnosis of end-stage of Kidney Failure.
Dear Sr. Joyce, we feel the pain of your physical departure but spiritually we are one in Christ. We shall cherish the memories of your life with us in our Religious Family of the Missionary Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church.
